IT Band Syndrome?

About two weeks ago, I started having weird pain in my knee. I can't bend it past a certain point, I can't squat down, and it bothers me running up hills or walking stairs. I went to see the sports trainer at my school and he said that it was IT Band Syndrome, but after a week of icing and stretching, it hasn't gotten any better. I have heard of other cases of ITBS and they all complained about thigh and hip pain also, but that is not the case with me. I got an IT Band compression wrap, and it helps when I am walking, but as soon as I start running, it bothers me again. What do you think this is, would a regular knee brace help it, and what are some things that I can do to help it heal?
It also hurts to flex my calf muscles and it hurts in different spots before and after running. Are you sure that it is IT Band Syndrome?

I've had a little bit of every injury, and IT band inflammation hurt the worst. That was in fall 2000, and I still have nightmares about that metallic throbbing pain in my knee.

Bad news - I got through it with lots of rest and lots of Vioxx. My trainer just kept giving me those orange boxes. I think it was two years later that Vioxx was yanked from the shelves.

As far as answers go, this one sucks. No stretches worked, and only a lethal dose of anti-inflammatories will ease the pain.

But here's some good news - I barely dealt with it the final 10 seasons of my career. I don't know what caused it, but I had awful form when I entered college. Once I made some drastic improvements, my injuries went away. So focus on better form and hopefully that eliminates the cause of the injury.

Sopranos last ever episode????.......?

SPOILER WARNING (for anyone who hasn't seen it)
Okay, bought last box set and have just finished watching the last episode. So Tony is sat in the diner with his wife and son. They are waiting for their daughter. You notice people there who may be there to kill Tony. You hear the door open and Tony looks up.....then that's it! Then the credits! Is my dvd faulty? Is it jumping from this scene to the credits? Am I missing something or was that it? If so I feel cheated, I've watched six series of the Sopranos over the years and that was it?! I don't mind open endings where you have to make your own mind up but that was just wrong.....what do you think? Will there be any more?

That is the way it ended on HBO too, people were going crazy thinking their cables, etc. went out. It is supposed to be that way per the producer David Chase....
