plantar fasciitis won't go away?

I've had plantar fasciitis for two years. I've been in physical therapy for 8 weeks and I haven't seen any improvement. Anyone here have plantar fasciitis for long periods of time? If so, did it ever go away? Has there been cases of chronic plantar fasciitis? If so, how did you get rid of yours?

Please, don't give me advice on how to treat it, I know just about every trick in the book from rigorous stretching, ultrasound, electro-shock, prescription orthotics, ice coke bottle, golf ball, night splint, ice therapy, taking time off from activities, heel cups, steroid patches, oral medication (all of these under supervision of qualified podiatrist and physcial therapist).

Only two things I haven't tried yet is cortisone injection and surgery. Does cortisone injection help heal it or is it just temporary relief?

I'm planning on going into military service so I need to get this fixed within the year.

You are not alone, I also have had plantar fasciitis for two years now. I've also done all the remedies you listed, except for shots and surgery, which I just won't do. One thing that has helped alot is an arch support that slips in your shoe, a hard support - not one of those soft gel rubbery ones. You can find them at Rite-Aid drug stores (USA). Using this insert actually provided instant relief, but the healing process will take a long time, I'm told.

Why doesn't Eastern Europe or the Soviet countries seem to produce as many good tennis players?

It seems countries like Australia, USA and Great Britain are producing the best tennis players right now with many in the top 20 of the mens and womens ranks.

However, I cant think of a single tennis player inside the worlds top 20 from an eastern european or soviet country.

I'm wearing Khaki pants and a black polo. Are black dress shoes ok? If not, what shoes should I wear?

What about just black tennis shoes? (It's for a basketball game as I am an assistant coach and we are to wear khakis and a black polo)

Dress shoes are fine as long as they are not made of patent leather or anything too shiny. If you are going to be running around on the court you may want shoes with grip on the soles.

The black tennis shoes would also be fine as long as they are in good condition and mostly black. No chucks, Jordans with the tongue sticking out, Nikes with a one inch sole, or...you get the point.

Just try to look semi professional. It'll make you seem more legitimate.
