Martial Arts Movie (21th century) pure Chinese, i was wondering if someone could help me with its title (Its in chinese so its hard to rememeber). I watched it before but i forgot it title, its about twin brothers in modern china fighting over a medal of some sort, its kinda similar to arahan it employs Chi, B.T.W. its also in CR(Crunchyroll) and its trailer is in Youtube but the problem is I can't remeber its title. what i want is to learn how to throw punches muay thai is kick boxing i think and i might join that one or is there a different one that is similar to boxing ?

The difference between MT and KB is the use of Elbow and knees.
In MT you can use them but in KB not.
In traditional MT(which is illegal) they use the forehead for striking the opponents face too.But as I said it's an illegal sport.
You better not to start with MT rightaway.
Do some Kyokushin, then shift to Kick Boxing and then carry on with Muay Thai.
Kyokushin teaches you the dicipline and the techniques too.It also opens your eye to efficiently see the comming punches and kicks.Since your face won't recieve any punches, you'll easily keep your eyes opn to see where you are getting punched.Kicks are much slower than punches so you'll have much easier time to see them coming to your face.
When shifted to Kick Boxing, you'll only add the punching to the face techniques and will advance very fast.
After KB, when goint to MT, You almost have 90% of the thing, so you'll only pick up the knee and elbow techniques.

By the way, Kick Boxing and MT, have deifferences other than just knee and elbow theniques.
For example MT kicks travel a sharper and less round path than KB kicks.
and the attack and defence strategy is very different.
But being good in one martial art, you can get good in all the similar arts very easily.
So I recommend

Why Should I Choose Martial Arts For My Child?

Parents may choose to enroll their children in a martial arts program for a number of different reasons. Martial arts can provide a safe and healthy outlet for children. Enrolling a child in Taekwondo, Karate, or Kung Fu can provide them with the opportunity and desire to engage in physical activity which can lead to healthier bodies and minds. Parents may also choose to enroll their children in a martial arts program for the affect it can have on their child's sense of confidence and well being. Martial arts life skills that are taught, developed, and encouraged include many skills. These include things such as respect, self esteem, integrity, confidence, perseverance, loyalty, self control, courtesy, and confidence.

Kids are encouraged to set personal goals for themselves, both in and out of class, and are given the tools necessary to help them achieve those goals. Another reason to enroll a child in mixed martial arts is the sense of security instilled in the parents and child that comes with knowing that the child has been taught the basics of self defense. Martial arts training can have a positive impact on all aspects of a child's life. A healthy and confident child generally exhibits more positive behavior in school and at home than an unfit child lacking in confidence. A healthy body leads to a healthy mind. An increase in attentiveness can help a child to succeed in school and excel later in life.

The rewards from enrollment in a martial arts program can be immense and long lasting. The physical well being, mental health and confidence learned while studying martial arts will likely stay with a child long after their classes stop.

lots of martial arts in saudi, mostly japanese and korean, not that much kung fu or tai chi.
you'll find karate, judo, aikido, taek won do, hap kido and there are many dojos, chains or independents, and sometimes asking around in gyms would work things out.

Training mats or training bags?

Should I get training mats so I can practice jump kick techniques without damaging my knees, ankles, and joints, stretch safely and comfortably, and possibly do some grappling if one of my friends come over (I'm disciplined in taekwondo so I may not be doing this often)? Or should I get a training bag so I can practice my technique on a target and measure and gain power in my technique?

Between the choices you gave me and the reasons behind them I would buy the mats. You're knees won't always be there but your ability to improve technique will be. Protect your knees and prolong their life.

For target practice you can try a technique I like to call "kick the knot." For this technique all you need is a piece of rope or a unused martial arts belt (like the white one that comes with every uniform), tie a knot as close to one end as possible and then hang the belt in such a way that the knot hangs down and where it has plenty of room to swing freely (swinging freely is important for 2 reasons, 1 so you can see if you hit the knot properly, 2 so you don't hurt yourself hitting something else in the process) then just simply kick the knot.

An Introduction To Muay Thai

All across the world, people have heard about it and possibly even witnessed it first hand or on television - the furious punches, bone crushing elbows, lethal and piercing kicks, and the unforgettable knees.  Although watching it on television is great, nothing begins to compare to seeing these moves executed live - with thousands of fans cheering the fighters on.

This is the wonderful world of Muay Thai kickboxing.  Muay Thai is a martial art that is unlike any other, rich in the proud heritage of an entire nation.  The style is interwoven into the well known history of the Thai people.  Even though they are gentle and fun loving people, they’ve had to defend both themselves and their land for many years against the aggressive powers and thieves.

To protect what they had, the Thai people developed a fighting system of close combat techniques that were suited to the type of rough terrain they would be fighting in.  Over the years, it eventually become a rite of passage for all Thai men to train in this amazing martial art.

In the beginning, Muay Thai proved to be a dangerous and deadly art, with the fighters having no safety gear or protection - all they had were lengths of cords in which they would wrap around their fists as gloves.  As the years progressed, rules were written into the equation to establish some protection for the fighters.

Over the years, Muay Thai has progressed as both a martial art and a style, attracting people from all over the world.  There are training facilities in Russia and the United States, with qualified instructors to help teach Muay Thai to interested students.

These days, Muay Thai is one of the most popular sports in the world.  There are a lot of television networks that broadcast Thai bouts on a weekly basis, pleasing avid fighting fans from all over the world.  International boxing is another popular sport, although most successful International boxers got their start in Muay Thai.  This goes to show why Muay Thai training is so popular - and so lethal as well.

Normally, Thai bouts are fought with 5 three minute rounds, with a two minute rest period in between the rounds.  All fights are preceded by a dance, which gives the contestants the opportunity to pay homage to their teachers.  The dance is an excellent exercise to warm up with, with plenty of symbolic meaning towards the style.

During the fights and even with training, you’ll see that each Thai boxers wears armbands and a headband.  The headband that fighters wear is believed to have been blessed by a monk or teacher, and will bestow luck upon the fighter.  Thai boxers take a lot of pride in their training and fighting, with the headband being a source of inspiration and pride for the fighter.

During training, Thai fighters will learn a lot about their spiritual well being, the history of Muay Thai, and the skills they need to survive.  Fighters that plan to compete in Thai fights will need to practice a lot, as the fights can be very demanding.  Thai training can be very brutal, all depending on where you study.  If you are studying the ancient arts of Thai boxing, you can count on the training to be very rigorous and demanding.

Although Muay Thai can be a tough art to practice, it is one of the best martial arts that you can study.  The techniques are lethal, the training is tough - yet the competitions make it all worth while!
